Three of Worcestershire's business experts have backed the county's economy going forward and identified key areas that will help to drive improvement.
Worcestershire has the fastest growing economy when it comes to productivity and recent figures show that the County is one of the UK’s best locations for starting up new businesses.
Nigel Hudson from Worcestershire County Council, Gary Woodman from WLEP and Sharon Smith from the H&W Chamber of Commerce all say the future is bright for Worcestershire.
Mr Hudson, Head of Strategic Infrastructure and Economy at Worcestershire County Council, said: "In many ways we need to do more of the same.
"We've spent the last five years working on the supply of employment land across Worcestershire. We need to ensure this generates the required commercial space for the market, creating new jobs for the county."
Mr Woodman, Chief Executive of Worcestershire LEP, said: "We need to ensure we continue to work together.
"We've opened up a lot of new sites and identified which businesses are looking to expand, where they are looking to relocate from and to and international companies planning to move in. We have to do that to enable that businesses take the opportunities that we have created."
Sharon Smith, Chief Executive of Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, said relationship building with firms was key. She said: "We must continue to build close relationships with key businesses and support each other to reach that common goal.
"It's also vital that we support key sectors within the local economy and continue to support increased innovation and investment."
Three videos of Sharon, Nigel and Gary speaking about Worcestershire's economy and the priorities going forward will be posted on the County Council's LinkedIn page all this week. To watch them visit: https://www.linkedin.com/company/worcestershire-county-council.
