In 2017, the company was awarded with The Queen's Award for Enterprise in International Trade; a prestigious award for British businesses that excel at selling internationally.
Fish4dogs turns over £11m+ a year and distributes and sells to 31 countries worldwide. Since its beginnings in 2005, Fish4Dogs has won a collection of awards including trade awards and chamber of commerce awards. Having now been awarded The Queen's Award is a massive privilege for all staff, at all levels.
The Fish4Dogs story is a true 'rags to riches', the founding couple started the business after liaising with a Norwegian Farmers co-operative, but a few years down the line, the business was struggling. The business restructured, resulting in a new management team and with new CEO, Graham Smith, the business transformed to be the success it is today.
To win The Queen's Award, businesses have to demonstrate year on year growth, and with Fish4Dog's 265% sales increase in over six years combined with strategic investment and plans for growth, it was well positioned to apply for the award.
The company's now looking forward to the presentation at Buckingham Palace in July, some celebratory activities for all staff and developing the business even further in 2017.
Graham Smith, CEO, says: "This is a fantastic award and testimony to a world class product and the work of our passionate teams in the UK and internationally. It shows that we are punching well above our weight. Reasons for our success include our excellent customer service, inventory and export management and our new product development pipeline."
