Justin Bowen has spent the last three years building up his fudge empire in his family kitchen and has now created Droitwich Salted Fudge.
The new fudge flavour is the first food produced in 100 years with salt extracted from Droitwich brine. The launch in May was a success, with a universally positive response.
We caught up with Justin as he is waiting for a new batch of salt to arrive.
"I was delighted when I got the call about using Droitwich salt, it was a no brainer for me and I was very excited.
"I started Wychbold Fudge three years ago, after 20 years in local authority, I wanted something different. I make everything in my family kitchen and I want to keep it that way. I have two young children – who are the best and most honest taste testers!"
Justin and his wife spend their weeks cooking, packaging and selling fudge at local markets, and is looking forward to unveiling the next batch of Droitwich Salted Fudge at the Droitwich Food Festival on 17th June.
